An ECU student will grace the big screen at Cannes Short Film Festival for her work about a young women who is inspired to become an opera actress and follow in the footsteps of her Taiwanese grandmother.
Ying Chu creator of the short Ah-Ma: A Tale of Two Generations, talks to RTRFM’s Atikah Hurley about her film being shortlisted for Diversity in CAN 2024.
Chu speaks about reaching a global audience, what her family thinks of the film and studying at the WA Screening Academy.
It is my first time doing a phone call interview with the radio. It was an exciting experience and a good learning experiencefor me. I really need to improve my public speaking and pronunciation.
